Yom Hashoah author event in Highland Park

North Suburban Synagogue Beth El presents a special Yom Hashoah author program at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 7. Fern Schumer Chapman will take attendees along on her mother’s journey as one of the 1,200 children rescued from Nazi Germany and brought to Chicago as part of the One Thousand Children project.

The program is open to the community and free of charge. Breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m. Copies of “Is It Night or Day?” and “Motherland” by Schumer Chapman will be available for sale, and a book signing will follow the program.
